The Modern Firm launched a flurry of new small law firm and solo attorney websites this spring. As we catch up on highlighting some of the leaders and best, there's something worth clarifying. Small firms, particularly those outside the competitive circles of major urban centers, certainly have a lot in common. For one, their attorneys wear many hats, and often work in many disparate areas of practice. And their similarities are the root of our work: we've spent many years learning about small law practices, what works for their websites and marketing, and what doesn't. But — don't think that makes it boring. The differing ways these folks have carved out their practices lead to really interesting niches.
Case in point: the Norman, Oklahoma law firm Mills & Jones, PLLC. Generally billed as civil litigators, much of their work is much more focused than that. They have a fascinating practice concentrated on commercial trucking and transportation litigation, including commercial trucking accidents. They represent national, regional and local motor carriers, freight brokers and logistics providers — and their insurers — with regard to claims of personal injury, wrongful death, property damage, cargo and freight claims, insurance bad faith, and products liability.
Heck, before we met these folks, we didn't even know there was a Trucking Industry Defense Association. Well there is. Now we know!
The colors of the new Mills & Jones home page result from a perfect synthesis of design and photography. Simple and sophisticated, the firm's work is outlined alongside previews of their location, attorney biographies, and credentials. Interior pages carry over the color scheme, along with additional local photography.
