The Maine Elder Law Firm started out as a boutique practice in Bangor, Maine in 2001, focusing on the needs of aging Mainers, including estate planning, probate, and long-term care planning, as well as special needs planning.
After more than a decade in Bangor, the Maine Elder Law Firm merged into a larger local practice. When the two firms decided to once again operate separately, the Maine Elder Law Firm decided it was the perfect time for a website redesign, including a new logo.
The firm was one of the first law firms in Maine dedicated to the legal needs of older clients and individuals with special needs. The three attorneys, three paralegals, and staff of this small woman-owned firm work as small teams to serve their clients’ needs, striving to create a welcoming, relaxing environment.
The first thing visitors to the site will notice is the large banner photograph of the entire team smiling in welcome. To further convey the unity of the firm on the website, profiles of everyone in the office are accessible from a single Team page featuring each person’s picture, name and title. (Office dog Yogi Bearor has a profile, too.)
The firm wanted the tranquil vibe of the office to carry over into the website, putting visitors at ease as they browsed. In service of this goal, the website is designed in tones of green and blue on a crisp white background, both calming and easy to read.
To reinforce the impression of the firm as a safe and friendly place, the new law firm logo design includes a simple drawing of a burgeoning tree in full leaf, at once conveying vibrancy, peace, and shelter.
