Katie obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Hamline University School of Law in 2006. She was an Associate Editor of the Hamline Law Review and a member of the Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court team. She studied International Law in Bilboa, Spain through Hamline’s Dispute Resolution Institute and has worked as a judicial law clerk for the United States District Court and as an Attorney Editor for Thomson West. She is a licensed attorney in the State of Minnesota where she is a seasonal resident, lacking the strength and desire it takes to brave the winter months.

Responsibilities

As lead copywriter for The Modern Firm, Katie is responsible for making all of our clients sound their best. She works directly with attorneys and firm staff to write up bios, practice area descriptions, promotional text and articles.

Destination Unknown

Katie advocates the rebirth of the nomadic lifestyle. While born and raised in Minnesota, her travels take her to far corners of the globe. She is fascinated by the world and its many people and their many colors. With a particular affinity for tropical climates, her ultimate travel destination is Vanuatu.

• Grew up on a dairy farm and knows how to milk a cow and drive a tractor.

• Has a mild infatuation with sun, sand, and surfing.
• Was supposed to be one in a family of six boys, but as fate would have it, ended up second of four girls.
• Despises mornings and people who can wake up without an alarm clock.
• Can’t remember the last time she stayed in one place long enough to officially unpack her suitcase.
• Is a certified multi-tasker and has been known to take her laptop to the beach to work and kill a few other birds with the same stone.
• Loves guitars and any kind of music you can play with it.
